The syrup is almost as thick as molasses which is good because some lo-cal syrups are watered down and tend to soak into your pancakes or waffles making them soggy. I was worried about the taste but it's perfect for me, just sweet enough. You don't even miss the regular syrup. Why I only gave it 3 stars? The price! The bottles are super tiny-about the size of those small dishwashing liquid bottles and with shipping added onto your order it's unaffordable by most people . I don't understand the food industry, they say that obesity is at an all time high yet they charge 3x or more for the healthier versions. Average families cannot afford this because they have to make their dollars stretch. So to charge $10 per bottle plus shipping is way too much. With prices like that-the Sukrin syrup is more of an occasional indulgence (1-2x per year) not a regular item I could afford to keep stocked in my pantry each week.
